Alaska Woman Smacks Bear In The Nose To Save Dog
A woman in Alaska is thrilled that her dog is safe after she took on a bear to save it. The "Juneau Empire" newspaper reports Brooke Collins says a black bear grabbed her dachshund while the dog was out for a romp. She punched the bear in its face to make it drop the dog. Collins recalled, quote, "the bear was carrying her like a salmon." The Juneau woman says she did a "stupid thing" in taking on the bear, but didn't stop to think about the danger. She says the dog appeared to be more shocked than physically injured.
