A West Michigan brewery will begin taking online orders tonight - Tuesday, December 1st, for a new beer blend called “Big Gretch: The Return”. Yes, named after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Before you think this is a dig at our governor, I can assure you it is not. As a matter of fact this is not the first time Rake Beer Project in Muskegon has paid homage to Gretchen Whitmer. The brewery released a hard seltzer in honor of her in May. According to MLive, this time time around the brewery has created a beer fermented in a blend of wheat, oats, and saison yeast. The brew also features fresh mango - yum!

A four pack will run you $18 dollars. You can place an order here, tonight beginning at 6:00 PM. If you click before 6:00 PM, you will not see anything about ordering this particular product. If you do plan on ordering, I would be ready to go at 6:00 PM on the dot. I have a feeling this beer will sell out.

Before you get too excited, I have one very important piece of information - if you order, you have to pick up your beer at Rake Beer Project in Muskegon this weekend. If you don't have anything else going on, why the hell not order and go? Hours of pick up are as follows,

  • Saturday, December 5th from noon until 7:00 PM
  • Sunday, December 6th from noon until 7:00 PM

If you do order some "Big Gretch" beers, will you drink them right away, or wait until the pandemic is officially behind us? Unfortunately, I don't think I could wait that long. Bottoms up!
