Courtroom Typist Misses the Mark – Loses His Job
Not liking your job is one thing, but when you are a courtroom stenographer who is responsible for everything said in a trial, it is a little more important to keep your focus. Daniel Kochanski lost his focus and had the seemingly perfect outlet for it.
Growing weary of his job, Daniel decided to make a statement by typing gibberish instead of the courtroom activity. He used random keystrokes to make it appear that he was following the courtroom procedures, but he actually added in, "I hate my job. I hate my job. I hate my job" over and over."
Kochanski was fired in March 2012. His actions could lead to mistrials in the cases where he ruined the transcripts. Court officials are still sorting through the paperwork.
