Day Of The Doors In Los Angeles

A big event is happening today, it’s The Doors 50th anniversary year beginning in Venice, California where the band was formed. The groups album The Doors was released on January 4,1967.

The Los Angeles City Council has proclaimed “Day Of The Doors” in the city of Los Angeles and a public event takes place at the intersection of Pacific and Windward Avenues underneath the famous “Venice” sign. Founding Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger will be on hand at the event as will family members of the late Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison.
