Ready to take a walk back in time? Get ready because the dinosaurs are about to roam the Detroit Zoo. Dinosauria is once again bringing history to present-day Michigan.

The popular interactive display is back at the Detroit Zoo for the first time since 2018 bringing more creatures of the past "to life". Dinosauria is a special attraction that gives recreations of prehistoric creatures along a winding, 3-acre trail, and a chance to encounter prehistoric creatures from long ago.

According to the press release, the immersive experience will include fossil dig sites, a predator/prey experience, and 29 life-like animatronic dinosaurs, including a 65-foot-long brachiosaurus. The enormous prehistoric creatures lurk at every turn, including adult dinosaurs and their young. The unique exhibit will feature several never-before-seen dinosaurs, as well as many fan favorites to see.

“We are excited to bring back our popular Dinosauria event for the summer season at the Detroit Zoo,” said Randi Hamilton, director of guest relations for the DZS. “There is sure to be something for everyone.”

In addition to the creatures themselves, Dinosauria will also have Zoo Poo, useable compost made from herbivore waste, that will be available for purchase at its prehistoric poo pile.

When Does Dinosauria Return to the Detroit Zoo?

The dinosaurs will be roaming the Detroit Zoo starting May 28th to September 5th. Tickets are $6 per person in addition to normal Zoo admission. Guests can also choose the Dino Total Experience for $13, which includes Dinosauria, admission to the 4-D Theater, and a train or carousel ticket.
