Dort Financial Center Gets New Look Ahead of Firebirds Season

Fans returning to Dort Financial Center this year will see a new look for the area.

The excitement is building as we are getting closer and closer to seeing the Flint Firebirds back in action. The new season is set to begin on October 9th at Dort Financial Center.

With the ending of the 2019-2020 season getting cut short because of the pandemic, fans haven't been able to see a game in a long time. Even though the ice hasn't seen any action, the rest of the arena has. Check out the video below for just a small portion of the upgrades.

Just the other week I was able to visit the Dort Financial Center for the first time in well over a year. I was extremely surprised to see some of the work being done. The arena looked amazing and they were still working on it. When I was there setting up for the Tattoo City Tattoo Convention I quickly noticed all of the LED boards that surround the lobby itself. That made me wonder what else they have been working on.

After running into a few familiar faces at Dort Financial Center, they showed me just a few of the things they are working on ahead of the next Firebirds season. In the main arena, more LED boards are ready to excite the crowd, along with new seats (see video below) and a brand new concrete floor beneath the ice. Even Arena Two (where the tattoo convention took place) looked amazing.

I cannot wait to see the finished product and see the Firebirds back in action on October 9th. We will see you at the game!
