Eagles Fly Over Redskins, 34-24, on Monday Night
Carson Wentz threw four touchdown passes, and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Redskins, 34-24, at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night. Philadelphia (6-1) soared to the NFL's best record with the win, their fifth straight victory.
Wentz finished with 268 yards passing, and he ran for a career-high 63 yards for the Eagles. On the downside, Philly lost Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters to a knee injury in the third quarter.
Kirk Cousins passed for 303 yards and three scores for Washington (3-3), which had early leads of 3-0 and 10-3 in the game, but never led again.
Philadelphia swept the Redskins for the first time since 2013. The Eagles now lead the NFC East by two-and-a-half games over Dallas and Washington, and five games over the Giants.
