Help in finding resources in the community and from the Veterans Administration and in meeting life's challenges is available for former members of the United States Armed Forces at Lapeer County Community Mental Health. LCCMH's Veteran's Navigator Services help with problem solving so that needs can be met and services can be located.
LCCMH's Veteran's Navigator is a veteran and a licensed social worker who is experienced and trained to provide the exact support and assistance needed to help other veterans in the community locate the resources they need to be successful in life after the military. Navigator services are free and confidential.
Resources include housing (HUD VASH and SSVF specific assistance), financial (VA benefits including VA Aid & Attendance, pensions, Social Security Disability and food assistance), insurance (Veteran's Choice, TRICARE, Medicaid, Medicare, VA Healthcare and other health insurances) individual counseling and support groups, group treatment or individual counseling for PTSD and trauma, legal (Mental Health Court), substance abuse (alcohol or drugs), employment (job placement, resumes, job coaching, training), education (GI Bill and vocational rehabilitation), medical and clothing.
