The Lapeer Lightning football team extended their unbeaten streak to eight with a thrilling, come-from-behind, 34-31 overtime win over Carman-Ainsworth Friday night!

Carman-Ainsworth led by two touchdowns as the fourth quarter started, but Lapeer would tie the game in regulation, and then won it in overtime. Carman-Ainsworth has been the first team to really challenge in Lightning this season. The first seven Lightning wins were blowouts, but homecoming night for Carman-Ainsworth gave them some extra incentive. Lapeer has scored 355 points this year and had only allowed 20 total points prior to Friday night. The Lightning are now 8-0 overall, 6-0 in the Saginaw Valley league, and ranked fifth in the state.
