The guys in Gov't Mule have a treat for Doors fans this Halloween.

The hard-touring band, which features Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes, has an annual tradition of using its Halloween shows to pay tribute to other artists' music -- one they'll continue this year with a tribute to the Doors, featuring appearances by the band's guitarist, Robby Krieger.

ABC News Radio reports that Krieger is set to join the Mule for a pair of California shows: Oct. 30 at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, and Oct. 31 at the Fox Theater in Oakland. He's been staying close to home lately -- ABC's report says these are the only dates on his 2013 schedule -- but it's easy to see what lured him back onto the concert stage for these special gigs. Previous honorees at the band's Halloween shows have included Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Who and the Rolling Stones.

Krieger's guest spot comes at a particularly collaborative moment in Gov't Mule history: The band's most recent release, 'Shout!,' includes a second disc featuring performances by an impressive array of famous friends, including Steve Winwood, Dr. John and Elvis Costello.
