Most of Michigan has been put on alert to a pending ice storm that could leave Genesee County under more than an inch of ice.

The Michigan State Police posted the following on their Facebook Page.

There is no way to be certain how much snow and ice will fall, but officials are saying that we should plan for the worst.

The obvious effects will include dangerous travel conditions, but long term power outages are also a possibility.

The main thing you can do is make sure you have a few days worth of food in your house, and if you have to go out on the roads, use extreme caution.
