The multi-talented musician and rapper, Jelly Roll, has expressed his deep desire to visit Flint and spend some time alongside none other than our Sheriff Chris Swanson. Jelly Roll has captured the hearts of fans worldwide. But what truly sets him apart is his unwavering commitment to uplifting those who've faced adversity in their lives. His personal journey, filled with triumph over hardships, has resonated with countless people. Now, he's ready to share his story right here in Flint, to inspire and empower those who need it most.

It all started with Sheriff Swanson reaching out through mutual friends to the megastar and extending the invite. Swanson promised Jelly Roll that a visit to Flint would be life-changing.

"I told him, the fact you believe in second chances, you are a walking modern-day Johnny Cash. I want you to come to Genesee County and see what we've been doing as a county and a city, come to the jail and do a Johnny Cash style concert. I promised him he will never forget it and it will make a mark in his life", Swanson told us.

 

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office shared the video response from Jelly Roll letting Sheriff Swanson know he's interested in heading to Flint and visiting those inmates at the Genesee County Jail. He said he hoped to inspire those to make a fresh start, much like he did, and even play a little music. He also made sure to say he would even welcome a ride along with the Sheriff. "I'm on the baby", he said.

This potential collaboration is more than just a concert or a visit; it's a symbol of second chances, resilience, and the power of community coming together. Jelly Roll's music and Sheriff Swanson's dedication to change make them a dynamic duo on a mission to inspire and uplift.
