It's that time of year, when traffic around the Grand Mall in Grand Blanc becomes increasingly unbearable.

To be fair, it's not people. That parking lot, simply, isn't for the faint of heart or impatient.

It's a very compact lot. Not in the sense of car size, rather the number of full-size vehicles they cram into the space.

Want to return bottles? Might as well park around back because spaces are not usually open.

Does Grand Blanc Kroger have a drive-up pharmacy window?

They don't. So know this...

If you enter from Saginaw Road, chances are you're going to deal with even more pedestrians.

You have to look out for people crossing to the "Walk-Up Pharmacy."

You don't want to mow down Mee-Maw or Pop-Pop because you're road-raging in a parking lot.

Pro tips for parking at Grand Blanc Kroger

If you have to make a trip anytime, but especially the holidays, try these tips.

  • Know your No-Fault insurance deductible before you go.
  • Watch for pedestrians -- they're everywhere.
  • Think you see a spot? There's probably a cart.
  • Don't back in.
  • Pull through whenever you can.
  • There's not a "Parking in Rear" sign, but there is parking there.
  • Don't be in a hurry.
  • Try not to go during peak weekend or weeknight "rush hours"
  • Don't circle the parking isles. Park somewhere else.

When you can't find a parking space on the weekend, consider taking a two-hour break for brunch.

On the opposite end of the Grand Mall is the new Estelle Public House. Take a breather with food and a mimosa before you try again.
