School officials might soon have to look at options because Lapeer Community Schools have used up their allowed six snow days. It's only late January, so what are the options they might face if inclement weather moves back in?State law says that after six days off for snow or frigid temperatures students have to have to start making up the lost time. Since February and March both offer the opportunity for more inclement weather, additional snow days are still a possibility.

School officials have a couple of options, depending on how many additional days are needed. They could add additional time to the school days, extend the school year farther into June, or reduce the time of the Easter break. Those decisions will depend on needed snow days through the rest6 of the school year.
