Some sad news broke this morning as one of the buildings that is part of the Heidelberg Project in Detroit caught fire this morning.

A building at the corner of Heidelberg and Mt. Elliott Streets caught fire at around 6:45 am this morning. When firefighters and officials arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames. Unfortunately, according to officials, the building will have to be demolished. No word has come out yet as to the cause of the fire and arson investigators have been called in to check it out. Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze.

For those of you that don't know what the Heidelberg project is, it is an outdoor art environment in Detroit. I've been down there several times and it is one of the many cool things in the city. If you ever get the chance to check it out, do it, you won't be disappointed. You can actually book tours of the Heidelberg Project and learn all about it.
