The Tigers hosted the Chicago Cubs last night at Comerica Park. It was their first home game since the death of Aretha Franklin on August 16 at her Detroit home.

Aretha was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 25, 1942, and moved to Detroit at age four. She last performed in her hometown at a downtown outdoor festival in June 2017 and ended the performance with "Please keep me in your prayers" according to The Detroit Free Press.

The Tigers paid tribute to The Queen of Soul before the game with a moment of silence during which an illustration of Aretha, "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" and "FOREVER OUR QUEEN" appeared on the big screen --and a rainbow appeared directly above.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
