LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. -- Lapeer Community School officials sent home a letter with students on Tuesday, warning of an incident that took place near Zemmer Middle School.

The letter describes what Superintendent Debbie Thompson called a suspicious incident involving a man in a minivan offering a ride to a middle school girl.

The letter appears below and will be sent home with elementary and middle school students. It was read out loud to high school students.
