The classic rock supergroup Asia won't be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album quite like they planned with their fans in the UK. The band have abruptly cancelled all of their upcoming overseas dates due to drummer Carl Palmer's bout with E. coli.

It's back to MTV's formative years on the Vault today with Asia, an act owing much to the video channel for their success.  They even sang about VJ's as opposed to DJ's.  We called it modern art rock, with "old", even then, art rockers forming a new and exciting sound...

Progressive rock legends Asia certainly seem to have a lot on their plate as they celebrate their 30th anniversary: a new record, a world tour, a documentary and a reissue of their 1982 debut album.
