In case you missed it Saturday, was the State of Michigan’s Birthday, 177 candles on the cake for the Great Lakes State. Michigan was admitted into the Union on January 26, 1837, as the 26th state.

One of rock and rolls great ones was born today on June 18,1942 in Liverpool, England. On Paul’s birth certificate it reads James Paul McCartney son of Jim and Mary. Paul got his love of music from his father who played the piano and trumpet and had a group of his own in the 1920’s called Jim Mac’s Jazz Band.

Robert Clark Seger was born 68 years ago today. Bob Seger is Michigan's rock and roll favorite son. He continues to do what he's been doing for some 50 years with more dates to do on his current tour and new album on the horizon.

John Winston Ono Lennon. Today if John where still with us would be celebrating his 72 birthday.  I feel that if John was still here he would be making music and fighting for world peace.

If you think it's been too long since you've been to a baseball game, think about Mary Johnson. The lifelong Detroit Tigers fan celebrated her 104th birthday Sunday by seeing her team host the Seattle Mariners. It was the first time she's seen a game in person since 1936.
