Got a note from Lapeer's Adoptable Animals that November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month. The ASPCA say's If you’ve been thinking about adding a four-legged-friend to your family, consider opening your home and your heart to an older dog or cat in need.
Many cats and kittens are available for adoption at Lapeer County Animal Control. The adoption fees have been waived for any cats that are over a year old. If they are not altered, the $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required for adoption.
Now through Saturday January 31, Lapeer County is waiving the adoption fee of $20 for all cats and kittens. Spay/Neuter deposit of $50 is still required per state law. If the cat is altered then there is no fee and the cat is free.
October 29, has been set aside to honor cats and the love and friendship they give to their owners.

Lapeer’s Adoptable Animals fundraiser is happening on Saturday (4/26) at Hideaway Lanes on Howland Road in Almont. “Pins for Paws Bowling” gets underway with registration at 6 pm. Bowling and the Euchre tournament both starting at 7 pm.
All you can eat Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for Lapeer’s Adoptable Animals is going on Saturday (4/15) at the Lapeer V.F.W. on Daley Road from 4pm until 8pm.
