The Vault Gets Psychedelic – ‘Nazz’ Today
The Nazz was a late 60's garage rock act that sometimes dabbled in psychedelia, as is the case with their first hit Open My Eyes, which we'll roll on today's Vinyl Vault. Todd Rundgren was in this band giving him his first opportunities for experimentation that he would continue throughout his career. Their 2nd hit only had regional airplay on the east coast, Hello It's Me, the b-side. Of course this became a huge hit a few years later when Rundgren did his own version. Another band from the late 60's was called The Nazz before they found out it was already taken. They settled on Alice Cooper.
