History of "Gates"

First, there was "Watergate." which involved the administration of President Richard Nixon from 1972 to 1974 which led to his resignation. This stemmed from attempts to cover up a break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters. 69 people were indicted and 48 of them were convicted with many of them top Nixon administration officials.

Then there was "Deflategate" which was a scandal involving New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in 2014 during the AFC title game against the Indianapolis Colts, allegations pointed to footballs being deflated under the legal limit which broke NFL rules.

Now there is "Tunnelgate." This is the name given to the beatdown a couple of University of Michigan football players received from a slew of Michigan State football players as the two teams were leaving the field through the tunnel.

7 MSU Players Charged With Assault Tied to Tunnelgate

Unlike in "Deflategate" where the New England Patriots were fined $1 million, lost 2 draft picks and Tom Brady was suspended for 4 games while no one was charged with a crime. In "Tunnelgate," 7 Michigan State Spartans football players have now been charged with assault after beating down two Michigan Wolverine players. What MSU Players Have Been Charged in Tunnelgate?

According to FOX 17, these are the MSU players that have been charged:

• Itayvion Brown - 1 count of aggravated assault - misdemeanor
• Khary Crump - 1 count of felonious assault - felony
• Angelo Grose - 1 count of aggravated assault - misdemeanor
• Justin White - 1 count of aggravated assault - misdemeanor
• Jacoby Windmon - 1 count of assault and battery - misdemeanor
• Brandon Wright - 1 count of aggravated assault - misdemeanor
• Zion Young - 1 count of aggravated assault - misdemeanor

The 7 MSU players listed above had already been suspended but will get their day in court.

The father of Michigan's Gemon Green who was injured in the melee is taking legal action against the MSU players who struck his son.
