With the year we're having, sometimes you just need a good glass of wine. Lucky us, we don't have to travel far to get to some of the best "wine country" in the country!

Two Michigan locations are in the running for "Best American Wine Region" in a USA Today and 10Best Readers Choice Poll: the Lake Michigan Shore and Old Mission Peninsula.

A panel of wine industry experts narrowed it down to 20 of their their favorite North American wine regions-- and now it's up to us to vote!

Here's their praise for Michigan's wine country:

The Lake Michigan Shore comprises more than 10,000 acres of grapes, which benefit from lake effect weather conditions. Visitors can explore the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, sipping wines from 21 area wineries and nine tasting rooms.

Michigan’s Old Mission Peninsula is home to just 10 wineries in the northwestern portion of the state along Grand Traverse Bay. The 19,200 acres of vineyards here grow mostly vinifera grapes – Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, though visitors can also sample ice wine.

Predictably, we're up against a BUNCH of locations in California.

You can vote once per day for your favorite once per day through Monday, August 12 at noon ET.
