There are a lot of people who are NOT happy, and they want to get the word out.

Last Friday afternoon, the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) announced that there will be no football in the state this fall because of the COVID-19 pandemic. And now, there are petitions circulating online to reinstate the season.

"At the end of the day, we did everything we could to find a path forward for football this fall. But while continuing to connect with the Governor’s office, state health department officials, our member schools’ personnel and the Council, there is just too much uncertainty and too many unknowns to play football this fall. No one is willing to take the risk of COVID being passed on because of a high-risk sport. Decisions have to be made on our other sports as well, but none of those carry the same close, consistent, and face-to-face contact as football."

Part of the description of #LetThemPlay says, "Michigan High School Football wasn’t just taken away from our kids, but it was taken from our coaches, our families, and our communities. We know the entire country is struggling right now, as are many families who have lost love ones to this virus, but there comes a point whereas we have to move forward and we have to start considering the mental health of the kids in this country."

Personally, I know football parents who refuse to sign these. What do you think? Would you sign?
