Some new requirements are now in place if you plan to attend indoor events at U-M and MSU.

Michigan State University and the University of Michigan have updated their COVID-19 protocols for those wanting to attend indoor events. Fans, students, faculty, and anyone over 12 years of age or older will not have to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend art, sports, and other events on campus.

What is now required at the University of Michigan campuses?

In order to attend an indoor event at the University of Michigan, attendees must do one of the following:

  • Provide a government-issued vaccination card for COVID-19
  • Provide a photo or digital version of a government-issued vaccination card
  • U-M staff and faculty can display the ResponsiBLUE app to show vaccination compliance
  • U-M students can display their valid MCard
  • Or provide a digital or printed negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test from the last 72 hours that was administered by a healthcare professional. (Over-the-counter home tests are not accepted.)

Michigan State University will also be requiring the same proof of vaccination or negative tests before attendees can enter any events.

What buildings at Michigan State University do these policies apply to?

The new proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test policies apply to all ticketed events at MSU in the following buildings:

  • MSU Broad Art Museum
  • Wharton Center
  • The Auditorium and College of Music performances including concerts and recitals in the Fairchild Theatre, Alumni Memorial Chapel, Cook Recital Hall, Murray Hall, or Hollander Hall.

The policies will begin on January 4th, 2022 for theatre, arts, and music events.

Both the University of Michigan and Michigan State University also continue to have indoor mask requirements in effect.
