Lapeer Community Mental Health “Art in the Park” event will be held tomorrow Saturday August 3rd at Torzewski Park. “Art in the Park” showcases the talents of students in creative arts including painting, crafts, improvisation, music, and writing.

Lapeer County CMH has had a strong collaboration with the county parks for the past 5 years, providing job training to individuals with disabilities while helping the financially strapped county parks system keep the two county parks with water slides open. The Torzewski Park offers a tremendous facility to host such an event with wide open spaces, three pavilions and an amphitheater, covered pavilions and picnic areas, shore fishing on Pero Lake, nature trails, children’s play equipment, horseshoes and sand volleyball and of course the water slides.

“Art in the Park” showcases the talents of students in creative arts including painting, crafts, improvisation, music, and writing.

The event is from 11-2 on Saturday. Access to the park, art show, and parking are free, but you must purchase a ticket to use the water park. The park is 5 miles west of Lapeer on Pero Lake Road, Lapeer.
