Robert Plant A Top Nominee Heading Into Americana Music Awards
Robert Plant is getting recognized outside the rock arena. The former Led Zeppelin frontman is one of the top nominees heading into the Americana Music Association Awards.
He's a contender in three categories, including Artist of the Year. In addition, he and his group Band of Joy are in the running for Duo/Group of the Year, and the CD "Band of Joy" is among the discs vying for Album of the Year. Plant's primary competition is Elizabeth Cook, who's also a three-time nominee and also up for Album and Artist of the Year. The 2011 Americana Music Association Honors and Awards will be presented in a ceremony at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium tonight.
