Many businesses and citizens alike came out in full force to donate water for our Safe Water Flint donation drive at Genesee Valley Center today. There's still time for you to get involved too.

As you know, Governor Snyder finally announced that we'll be switching back to Detroit as a water source and saying goodbye to the awful Flint River water that was leeching lead from old pipes and poisoning our kids. We're not out of the woods just yet, though.

It will likely be two weeks before the switch-back happens, and then another full month after that before all of the Flint garbage water is flushed out of the system. In the meantime, there are still a bunch of Flint Community School with water that has extremely high lead content pumping into them.

That's why it's important that we all come together and get enough bottled water and cash donations together to provide those schools with until our water is safe again. We've had many generous donations today (about 24k bottles by 1p), but we could always do better. We'll be accepting donations until 7p tonight at Genesee Valley Center, right between Bar Louie and Barnes & Noble bookstore.

Big thanks to all of our donors thus far, which include:

  • Rock Bottom Stone Supply
  • Ideal Transportation
  • Lowe's
  • Applebee's
