The Lapeer Interfaith Community Association (LICA) is counting on the letter carriers' Stamp Out Hunger food drive to help fill the pantry shelves that have been depleted from the high demand.The food drive is scheduled for May 10th and donations can be be left in a bag by your mailbox and will be collected by your letter carrier when your mail is delivered. The LICA is hoping it is going to be enough. Ann Pfeifle, chairperson for LICA says, "We are absolutely snowed under with requests for food".

During the first 3 months of 2014 LICA served 5,000 to 6,000 people at just one site. The pantry shelves a re nearly bare and awaiting help. Last year the "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive raised 74 million pounds of food across America.
