The Animals on Today’s Vault – Good Old Fashioned 60’s Anti-War Protest Rock!

British pub owners in the 60's would complain about this bands rowdy stage act - one in particular said, "They act like a bunch of animals!"  Well, the name stuck, even if the rowdy behavior didn't ... they became peace loving hippies later!  I always thought they stood out from the others with their darker and more serious nature.  Burdon's monotone almost spooky voice, the hypnotizing keyboards in "House Of The Rising Sun" or the bagpipes in "Sky Pilot", today's Vault tune, which is one of many that make up a very interesting body of work over the years.  The photos below show the boys in 2 different time periods, mid 60's and late 60's:
