The rock bands are up against each other in two categories.  U2's 360 Degree tour and Bon Jovi's The Circle trek are both in the running Top Tour and Top Draw.  The groups are facing the British pop band Take That for both awards.  U2 is also a contender for Top Boxscore with their concert stand in Sao Paulo, Brazil back in April.  The band's competition once again is Take That, who has two shots at the prize for their concerts in Manchester, England in June and their run of shows in London in June and July.  The 2011 Billboard Touring Awards will cap off the 8th annual Billboard Touring Conference, which will take place in New York on November 9th and 10th.  The event honors the top artists, venues, and others involved in the touring industry.

U2 and Bon Jovi were previously announced as nominees for the Billboard Touring Awards' 2011 Fans' Choice Award.  They're among the hopefuls in a long list of rock, pop, country, and hip-hop stars vying for the fan-voted honor.  Online voting in that category is under way now at Eventful.com/competitions/fanschoice2011, and closes November 7th at 5:00 p.m. Eastern.  In addition, Journey will be honored at the event as this year's recipient of the Legends of Live award.
