I wasn't sure what to expect from seeing Wishbone Ash after all these years, with Andy Powell being the sole remaining original member, being out of touch with what the band has done in recent years and never being to Callahan's in Auburn Hills.  I was pleasantly surprised, all around.  Powell's current version of the band did a blistering set of classic Ash, at times, sounding better than any recordings I've heard from the original early 70's line up I remember.  His voice was exactly as it was then, harmonizing perfectly with his recent recruits, and the classic "double harmonized guitars" sound that Wishbone Ash became known for, was right on, and I mean - right on.

As promised, they did the entire "Argus" album plus other faves, including a jaw dropping 15 minute version of their popular show closer "Phoenix".  Thumbs up to Mr. Powell and the others for doing a great show for a packed standing room only crowd of aging Wishbone Ash fans, as myself.  My girlfriend Debbie even liked it and she had no idea who these guys were!  We had a great time and Callahan's is a very cool place to see a show.  Keep it in mind!  Great food, great staff.  Thanks Tommy!  And thanks also to Billy James at Glass Onion PR.

And yes, the Tigers were on every screen in the place, with a WIN!
