Lapeer Community Theatre announces auditions for Life in the Middle Ages by Richard Hingst. Auditions will be held at the PIX Theatre in Lapeer, on Sunday, March 5 and Monday March 6 from 6 - 9pm.
This original play by LCT member Richard Hingst, tells the story of an unemployed middle-aged man who finds an opportunity for a job out of his field. Can this old dog learn new tricks and with help from the last place he expected it - his classmates from high school? This comedy/drama examines the challenges, opportunities, and relationships of being middle-aged, and whether we become over the hill or see life from on top of the mountain.
Cast requires 10 actors:
- 5 men aged in their fifties
- 4 women aged in their fifties. One must be able to sing
- 1 women aged in her 30’s, and must be able to sing
- There are some additional non-speaking roles for various ages
Rehearsals are Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6pm – 9pm at the Pix Theater and begin March 9. Show dates are the evenings of May 5, 6, 12, and 13.
Script is available for perusal at Marguerite deAngeli Library Reference Desk. Those who desire to audition for a role that sings should be prepared to sing a song of their choosing without accompaniment for 30 seconds.
