How To Celebrate Chinese New Year & The Year of The Pig
.Celebrate Chinese New Year in downtown Imlay City from 6 PM-8 PM on Tuesday, February 5, with a Dragon Dance, Drum Ceremony, Fireworks, Chinese Pastries, a Ninja Demonstration, Music, an Art Display and more. Chinese New Year is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. The Pig is the twelfth of the twelve year cycle of animals appearing in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.
Watch live art painting, see a Chinese culture display and traditional Chinese floral arrangements, watch live art painting and sample Chinese pastries at A Million Dreams Studio. Children’s crafts, a Ninja Demonstration, free drink samples and a cash bar will be hosted by Hiram’s Tavern. Children’s face painting and an Asian style event will take place at Imlay City Family Hair Care, mindful meditation at Peaceful Moon Yoga and a warming station with coffee and hot chocolate at Doug Halabicky State Farm Agency.
