Claressa Shields is keeping her promise to have a title fight in her hometown of Flint.

We were all very disappointed when the last fight had to be postponed, but Shields held true to her word, and is bringing all of her belts home to Flint. She announced today that she will be fighting a title unification fight on May 9th at Dort Financial Event Center.

The fight will be against the undefeated IBF Champion, Marie-Eve Dicaire, and it will be on Showtime. Shields talked about what the fight means to her in Flint and in the world of Women's boxing.

Headlining on SHOWTIME again will continue my goal to lift women's boxing to new heights. I'm going to give Flint and fight fans all over the world a night to remember on May 9

Shields is putting more than her undefeated record on the line in Flint, she'll also put up her WBO and WBC super welterweight titles on the line.

While this is not the Laila Ali fight that we all hoped would be coming next, this is going to be a very tough opponent for Shields. Fight fans have even suggested that Dicaire is a more challenging fight than Habazin, who Shields defeated earlier this year.
