Coyotes are members of the wild canine family and considered the most vocal of North American mammals. They use several types of vocalizations including howls, yelps and other sounds similar to what domestic dogs make. Maybe you've had the chance to hear coyotes vocalizing at night these past few months like I have.

Join Seven Ponds Nature Center this weekend on Saturday, March 9, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM, to learn about these fascinating canines. The program will start indoors at the center and end with a sunset hike looking for signs of coyotes and if you are lucky you will hear them sing. Call the center at 810-796-3200 to pre-register for this program by Friday, March 8.

Seven Ponds Nature Center encompasses 486 acres which contain deep glacial lakes, ponds, marshes, fields, woodlands and prairie that provide sanctuary for many different kinds of plants and animals. The center is located at 3854 Crawford Road in Dryden
