It was 46 years ago this week that George Harrison's album 'All Things Must Pass' hit the #1 position on the charts and would stay their for seven weeks. From the album the first single release 'My Sweet Lord' was resting in first place and would hold on to that slot for four weeks.
Information from George's Facebook says that 'All Things Must Pass' was the first triple LP of all new material issued by a single rock artist (the 'Woodstock' triple album soundtrack had come out a few months earlier). George was the first Beatle to have a number one solo single on both the US and UK charts, and 'All Things Must Pass' remains the highest selling solo album by any of The Beatles.
