Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Has Declared Rivalry Week In Honor of Saturday’s Big Game
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has declared a Rivalry Week from Oct. 25-31 in honor of this Saturday’s big game between the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Michigan State University Spartans.
I don't think we really need to proclaim a Rivalry Week in Michigan but it's happening nonetheless. I think Michiganders' rivalry game is one point every year without making it an official thing but it's all in fun.
Whitmer is a two-time MSU alumna and is all about the annual rivalry.
Gov. Whitmer:
Watching the Spartans and Wolverines battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy is one of our state’s greatest traditions. Whether you dress in green and white or root for the maize and blue, we can all agree that this has been an exciting year for football. Unfortunately, University of Michigan’s undefeated streak will come to an end this Saturday in The Woodshed. I can’t wait to cheer on the Spartans! Tuck Comin’. Go green!

I wish I shared her enthusiasm for either team but that's just not the case. I'm the kind of guy that simply watches the game the environment that surrounds it...food and beer.
If you are planning on attending the very expensive game this weekend, don't get screwed by the scams that are out there. So don't photograph or share your ticket barcodes on social media. According to MLive, Michigan State can only guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through its ticket office, the University of Michigan ticket office and through Stubhub, an official ticket marketplace partner of MSU athletics.
While I have zero interest in the game itself, it is fun to listen to all the Michigander trash talk leading up to the game.
