It's not the law just yet, but a state senator in Indiana has proposed a bill that would have a severe impact on drivers who pass stopped school buses.

Senator Ron Alting has proposed State Senate Bill 219 which would allow law enforcement to seize the vehicle from a driver who disobeys school bus signs, passing a vehicle while its arm is out and red lights are flashing.

Should Michigan consider similar legislation?

ABC-15 reports that the bill is now headed to a judiciary committee for further consideration. If passed, the Indiana law would take effect in July of this year.
