The following message is from David Eady the director of Lapeer County Animal Control...

"If there is anyone who has a dog in Lapeer County that they just cannot get inside or in some kind of suitable shelter for the weather that we are having. They can call Central Dispatch at 667-0298 and they will get a hold of us with your number and we can make arrangements for you to bring your dog in. Please remember that if you do leave your dog outside that it needs suitable shelter with STRAW not Hay and they will need plenty to eat and drink because they will use many more calories than usual to keep their body heat up. I appreciate the help in this and we are just trying to help save any dogs that might not have the shelter they need to survive this cold."
