If you are one of many people disappointed by the cancellation of the Michigan Renaissance Festival - I have good news. There is still an opportunity for you to attend the annual festival this year. The event will seem a little more futuristic, as you will have to enjoy it from your vehicle.

According to ABC 12, the MI Ren Fest is planning to host two weekend drive through events. The selected weekends are as follows,

  • Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th
  • Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th

As guests drive through the Renaissance Festival grounds, they will have the opportunity to watch entertainers, play games, and most important - eat. The event features six different food stops that do include turkey legs, soup in a bread bowl, lobster macaroni and cheese and more.

Some vendors will also be set up in drive up booths, outside of the festival grounds. Keep that in mind if you want to do some shopping prior to entering the event. I am sure the merchants will appreciate your business.

Ticket price for for the 'Festival on Parade' is  here. Cost is $20 dollars per car, maximum four people per car. You can purchase your tickets by clicking here.

Obviously this is not the same as years past, but it is very cool that this is even an option considering everything going on. Shout out to everyone at the Michigan Renaissance Festival that worked to follow guidelines mandated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Oakland County Health Department.

Have fun, and fare thee well.
