Singer Paul Rodgers (Bad Company) was honored for his contribution to British music at last week's prestigious Ivor Novello Awards in London. Rodgers received the top award from Chris Blackwell , who had signed Paul and his band Free to their first recording contract.  The Ivors, the most coveted awards for British songwriters and composers, are judged and presented by the songwriting and composing community. Past recipients have included Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, David Bowie and Elton John.
