A brown dog named Blue found wandering in Mid-Michigan and taken to the Humane Society of Midland County as a stray is back home in Florida thanks to a $20 microchip and the power of social media.
Her owner said she doesn't know anyone in Michigan but was ecstatic to hear her nearly one year old dog had been found after being missing for a week. She believed her dog was stolen but luckily Blue was microchipped. She was not able to make the drive to get her beloved dog back so the humane society turned to Facebook for help.

Blue hitched a ride home on Friday with a man and woman who saw the story and wanted to help. The feeling of losing a dog hit close to home for them.

The humane society said this is an example of how microchips are the key to happy endings like this.
