Michigan and Michigan State both show up in the pre-season top 25 rankings, but U of M is a little higher on the list.

After disappointing seasons for both programs, a lot of experts are saying that Michigan is a playoff football team this season. The Wolverines are ranked 7th to start the season after going 10-3 last year. Normally that would not be considered a bad year, but expectations were high in Ann Arbor last season. The expectations are even higher this year for Michigan.

The Wolverines start their season off on the 31st against Middle Tennessee. The game kicks off at 7:30pm on BTN.

Michigan State comes in ranked 18th after an extremely disappointing season last year. The Spartans finished last season 7-6, but are returning a lot of players for this year. The expectations for the Spartans are to compete for a BIG 10 title, and maybe get to 10 wins.

The problem is that the Spartans are the fourth ranked team in the BIG 10, and there is a ton of competition in the league.

No matter who you are rooting for, this promises to be an intense college football season.

The expectations are high for both Michigan and Michigan State, but everything we know about the BIG 10 is that anything can happen.

Do you think either U of M or MSU will walk away with the BIG 10 Championship?
