Flint Water Crisis

Flint City Council and the Mayors office cannot come to an agreement as of now on of pipe inspections and who will be covering the cost. Yesterday the council voted to postpone for 3-months on approving $140 fees for inspections of replaced water lines.

If you are a Flint resident and have been picking up water at Universal Systems, that water site will be closing today.

Federal aid toward the Flint water crisis will most likely end tomorrow. However, this is nothing to panic over - the state will now be funding bottled water, supplies and filters. According to reports, August 15th will be no different than August 14th for Flint residents.

Flint native Matt Wittbrodt has created a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a documentary he hopes to create about Flint. Wittbrodt has been working on this project for over two years. The film does of course cover the water crisis, but also shines a light on the people of Flint and the great things the city has to offer.

A promise made by the state to have fresh water available to all Flint wards has come to fruition. Water and filters are now available in Flint's 8th ward.

Former Detroit Piston Rasheed Wallace and some of his friends are going door-to-door delivering bottled water to Flint residents.

Six additional people have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Misconduct, and Willful Neglect of Duty in regards to the Flint water crisis.

Students from Virginia Tech are passing out water testing kits in Flint for the third time. The group is set up at Woodside Church in Flint, and you can pick up your kit up until July 19th. So far they have passed out 175 kits (and counting) and hope to get at least 165 back for testing.

The tour kicks off Saturday with George Thorogood and the Destroyers at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. The Flint native, and founding member of Grand Funk Railroad, stopped at home before the trek and it sounds like he's ready to ROCK!

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed a civil lawsuit against three companies in connection with the flint water crisis.

In a press conference this morning, Flint Mayor Karen Weaver announced the city will move forward with the KWA as its permanent water source.

As if Flint didn't have enough problems to deal with when it comes to drinking water, now there is a new boil filtered water advisory for parts of the city.
