A local woman who protects us, now needs our help.

Shanin Beall, a Lapeer County Sheriff's Deputy, was diagnosed with Immunoglobulin A (IgA) Nephropathy, a kidney disease that hinders the kidneys’ ability to filter waste from blood. Shanin has been fighting the disease since her diagnosis in September 2016, and her kidneys have continued to worsen over time. Currently Shanin is in Stage 5 kidney disease.

This Sunday, October 13th, you are invited to help Shanin raise money for her fight, and hopefully find a suitable kidney donor. You can find out more about being a donor here. All of the money raised will go toward Shanin's medical bills - she is currently on leave for dialysis. As you can imagine, none of this is easy or cheap.

The benefit on Sunday will include helicopter rides, raffles, 50/50 drawings and food. The event will be hosted by the Wild Pigs Motorcycle Club - including members of the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office. All of the event details are on the flyer below. You can learn more about Shanin, and her story here.
