
Ford Motor Company Let’s The First Pony Out Of The Barn In 1964
Happy Birthday to The Ford Mustang, unveiled at the World’s Fair in New York, on April 17, 1964. Interest in the new car spread like wildfire at Ford dealers across America with something like 22,000 Mustangs being bought during first few weeks of the debut.
The original “pony car” was a huge success for Ford. The company sold more than 400,000 Mustangs within its first year of production.The new Mustang had a base price tag of around $2,300.
