JV, Tigers Beat the Chisox in Crucial Matchup

Starter Justin Verlander picked up his 14^th victory of the season, as the Tigers came back to beat the Chicago White Sox, 5 – 4.  JV gave up two 2-run homers through eight innings of work, with Jose Valverde closing out the ninth inning.  The Tiger offense showed up with 11 hits, including a two-out, go-ahead single by Wilson Betemit in the eighth inning.  The same two teams wrap up their three-game series this afternoon with Max Scherzer on the mound for the Tigers.
