When it comes to celebrating our great nation's independence each year in July, there is no shortage of places to see spectacular firework displays though out the Great Lakes state. For those of us in Lapeer, we likely all want to go to the same place.

There Is Nothing Like Fireworks Over Water

Although any fireworks display is beautiful, there is just something special about a fireworks display that takes place over a beautiful body of water. And, if you think Lake Nepessing in Lapeer is beautiful during the day, you should see it at night as it explodes with all the brilliant colors from one of Lapeer County's best firework displays.

How Is The Lake Nepessing Fireworks Display Funded?

This display is put on by the Lake Nepessing Association (LNA) each year by collecting generous donations from all of the lake area residents, as well as past/future donors such as: the Lake Inn, the Lapeer Country Club, the Lake Nepessing Association, Hilltop Campground, the Lake Nepessing Boat Club, and more. For a privately funded display, this one really stands out each year.

When Are The Lake Nepessing Fireworks This July?

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 8th, 2023! Load up your vehicles with friends, family, even the family pets if you choose, and prepare for one of Lapeer County's most beautiful fireworks displays as it lights up the beautiful waters of Lake Nepessing, beginning at dusk.

*The Lake Nepessing Association wanted all area residents to know that the July 8th date is a result of the firework contractor's availability in 2023. And should mother nature not agree with the celebration on July 8th, the 'Rain Out Date' is Sunday, July 9th, 2023.

The Association is Still Accepting Donations

If you're still interested in making a donation to the fireworks display for this year, the lake association is still accepting them at this time. They ask that you make checks payable to "Lake Nepessing Association," and mail them out to: Debra Burns; 3603 Lakeshore Dr; Lapeer MI, 48446. Put "2023 Fireworks" in the memo.

If you have any questions about a donation or the display, call 810-790-0550.
