Taking That Quiz On Facebook Could Put You At Risk

Do you want to get hacked? Because this is how you get hacked. Or put you personal data at risk.

Recently, I had no less than two friends (on the same night no less) pop up on my newsfeed and they had taken one of these Facebook app personality quizzes.

They look cool, fun, and almost dare you to scroll by and not take the quiz.

Wouldn't you like to know how likely you are to snap and off someone? And if your friend rated 115% surely you can't be that bad right? Or maybe you're worse. That click to play button is right there. Then you can display your results for the whole world to see. Or how about this one?

Again another one. For some reason, your birth month determines your worst dominant trait. And shade of lipgloss? Go figure.

While these seem fun, they put you at risk. Especially if you take these quizzes from a company called Nametests.

Our friends at Nametests just 2 years ago had a little shall we say accident. And it affected 120 million of it's users.

Nametests.com, the website behind the quizzes, recently fixed a flaw that publicly exposed information of their more than 120 million monthly users — even after they deleted the app.  (Medium.com, 2018)

And apparently they fixed it but still.

Did we up and forget about Cambridge Analytica? It is election time again. There's talk about banning various social media app (Tik Tok anyone). And I don't know about you but the amount of phishing emails I have been getting is ridiculous. And some of them are really good.

Just be careful what you click on and what you're doing. Your data is at stake.
